COLOR AND TEXTURE

The table invites one’s eye to be delighted with both color and texture. The colors are striking in themselves but when put side by side really stand out. The glass candlesticks are mirrored in glass goblets to reinforce their beauty. The leaf on the napkin pulls the green color back into the forefront and creates unexpected interest. Very subtle artificial flowers surround the candlesticks to enchance their elegance while not stealing all the attention.

I saw the glass candlesticks through a window of an antique store and couldn’t get them out of my mind. Deciding to forget them, we went to lunch, but the vision of them kept pestering me. Usually when that happens, I start to create a table, and the vision grows and grows. Back I went to discover they were still available which I took as a sign they were meant for me. 

There is another element in this table which deserves attention. My friend, Sue, who happened to be with me when I bought the glass candlesticks, gave me the purple tablecloth. The best part was that it was her mom’s and was also round so it fit perfectly.

What is this table speaking? I think it is encouraging the guests to relate what makes them really happy. This table is like a garden of color suggesting we ignite the passion inside of us to step out, to be brave, and to express what is really in our hearts. This table challenges us
