I first met Lazetta when she complimented me on one of my tablescapes. Her wording was like poetry just like her tables. Both are examples of her great gift for art. She was the “Sunday Shoutout” on Tablescaping-The Art of Setting a Table where she wrote:
“I love it when the results of a tablescape whisper elegance, shout personality,
and at times wink at absurdity.”
If every one of our tables does that, we are definitely doing the right things. Lazetta inspires us to be unique!!! Enjoy her work.
Lazetta Smith-Holden
My name is Lazetta Smith-Holden. I was born in a small town in Ohio. I moved to Los Angeles after graduating from college and have been here almost 50 years. I am married and have two adult daughters. My family is my sunshine and the loves of my life.
On the career front, I have held fulfilling positions as Merchandiser, women’s fashion Buyer, private personal stylist; and lastly, I retired from the University of California (UCLA) as HR Manager of Policy 8 years ago.
During my personal time, I enjoy designing and creating invitations and personal greeting art cards. I especially love decorating tables, particularly for themed parties. My first introduction to tablescaping sites was in 2022; however, I did not join until I found The Art of Dressing A Table in early 2023.
Although I also love flirting with words and metaphors, and I do love poetry, I do not consider myself a poet.
